Meet Dr. John MacLaren

John MacLaren, DMD, MSD

A healthy smile, a healthy you!

I love helping people achieve their full personal potential. I believe a smile is the doorway to your inner being. It exudes your personality. Orthodontics serves my personal goal of helping others and appeases my inherent artistic qualities. I am proud to give my patients the smile they’ve always wanted. A smile has a strong impact on one’s life, both personally and professionally. I am honored to have the ability to help give someone confidence and self-esteem every time they flash their beautiful smile.

I am so blessed to work with so many incredible families. I am fortunate enough to develop wonderful relationships with my patients. Oftentimes, they come back as a young family and want me to treat their children! Those are special moments for me and positively affect my life.

Our office is a friendly and relaxed environment where you’ll always be greeted with a smile. I have a strong family unit at home and I pride myself on carrying that over to my office and patients. When you are in my care, you are a top priority.

Education and Continuing Education

  • Undergraduate Degree – Fordham University
  • Doctorate of Dental Medicine – Fairleigh Dickinson Dental School
  • Master of Science in Dentistry – Fairleigh Dickinson Orthodontic Program

As a board-certified member of the American Board of Orthodontics, I have proven my dedication to continued learning, self-evaluation, and the advancement of the field of orthodontics over the years. I have also participated in mock ABO examinations at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey for the past several years. I have found that in examining these young doctors, I also examined myself. It becomes a wonderful and effective learning experience for all.

Outside the Office

Every day is a great day. I go to work and enjoy my practice, and I come home to a terrific home-life. My wife, Maria, and I have three children, Michael, Renee, and Janine, and we’ve been blessed with eight grandchildren, 5 boys and 3 girls. I relish playing with and watching my grandchildren grow. My free time is spent biking, fishing, and spending time at the Jersey shore, where I am also the President of the Wildwood Crest condo association.
